GOVERNMENT AND NHL GET COSY,INCHING TOWARDS LEGALISATION OF SINGLE GAME NHL WAGERING IN CANADA Anyone else remember the Olympic Lottery?It is the grandpappy of all Canadian lotteries.It was begun as a temporary lottery(just like income tax,right?) by the federal government in 1975 to help fund the 1976 Olympics and the government found itself enjoying the extra revenue so much that it decided to keep the bar open well beyond last call.
